Tech mogul and X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk has officially unveiled his own political organization, the “America Party,” aiming to disrupt the entrenched two-party dominance in the United States.
The announcement followed a highly publicized July 4th poll conducted on Musk’s platform, where over 1.25 million users voted—with 65% expressing support for the creation of a new political party. In a bold statement, Musk posted:
“The people have spoken. America Party is formed.”
Musk’s new political initiative comes in response to growing dissatisfaction with both Democrats and Republicans. In his launch message, he sharply criticized the recently passed “Big Beautiful Bill” — a sweeping tax cut and government spending package signed on July 4. Musk slammed the legislation as “economic insanity,” claiming it would push the U.S. further into “debt slavery,” with projected deficits surpassing $3 trillion.
The America Party is not expected to run a presidential candidate—at least for now. Instead, it will focus on supporting candidates in key Senate and House races who align with its core principles: individual freedom, reduced government control, innovation-driven policies, and fiscal responsibility.
While Musk is constitutionally barred from becoming U.S. President due to his South African birth, speculation has already begun around his long-term political ambitions—possibly as a kingmaker, media disruptor, or influencer of independent movements.
This marks an unprecedented leap for Musk into formal politics, moving beyond his typical social media commentary and setting the stage for a potential realignment in American political dynamics ahead of the 2026 midterms.
